About El Patio de Tierra
El Patio de Tierra is our new space in the Eixample (Mallorca 91): an open, luminous and well cared workshop, where we love to create, learn and share ceramics.
Here you will find regular classes, initiation workshops and special editions. We work with small groups, quality materials and a team that accompanies you with closeness and good energy.
Whether you have experience or not, you will live a creative, relaxed and different moment. You can come alone, with friends or with your family and take your own pieces with you once they are ready.
Our team
In El Patio de Tierra we are four people who share the same passion for ceramics and for accompanying creative processes.
José, Nani, Paula and Josefina are in charge of this space in the Eixample, where we combine experience, technique and sensitivity to offer classes, workshops and special moments.
We are united by the idea that clay is not only a technique, but an experience: a time to disconnect, learn and enjoy the creative process in good company.
Barro Lab Experience
Explore the world of ceramics in a 3-hour workshop designed to discover the pleasure of working with clay, without previous experience.
We will start with an introduction to the ceramic process and then you will get down to work.
First, you will model a piece by hand, exploring shapes, textures and applying decoration techniques. Then, you will try the potter’s wheel, where you will create a second piece guided step by step.
Once finished, your pieces will go through the drying and baking process.
After 4 weeks, you will be able to remove them ready for use.
What does it include?
✔️ All necessary materials, tools and muds.
✔️ Burning of your pieces in a ceramic kiln.
✔️ Small groups for a personalized experience (maximum 5 people).
✔️ Accompaniment and guidance throughout the process.
Price: 85€ per person.

Lathe test session
A first contact with the potter’s wheel.
In this 2-hour session, you will learn the basics of working on the wheel, experiment with clay and create your first piece guided step by step.
It is a proposal designed for those who are considering joining our monthly lathe classes and want to get a feel for the material before making a commitment.
What is included?

✔ Firing of your piece in a ceramic kiln (with transparent glaze).

Monthly classes at El Patio
From the first class, you will feel the calm of working with more than 12 types of clay, explore glazes and discover how each piece you create is unique. We accompany you step by step, no matter your level, in small groups so that each person has their own time and space.
How do the classes work?
📍 2-hour classes, 1 time per week
📍 Small groups (4 to 6 people) for personalized attention
📍 All included: more than 12 types of clay, 25 glazes, tools and 7 lathes.
📍 Relaxed atmosphere: Enjoy the process with an infusion at each session.
What will you learn?
🏺 Hand modeling techniques: construction with churros, sheets and pinch.
⚙️ Handling the potter’s wheel: turning, returning and perfecting forms.
🎨 Finishing and decoration: application of engobes and glazes with more than 25 options to experiment with.
🔥 High temperature work: use of 5kilns for firing pieces at 1250°C.
