Tierra Cerámicas offers an internship program in an active ceramics studio in Barcelona, designed for people who already have previous experience in ceramics and want to integrate for a while in the real dynamics of a workshop.

We are looking for profiles based in a workshop environment, willingness to continue learning and the possibility of formalizing internships through an agreement with a university, school or training center.

An internship program in a real studio

Tierra Cerámicas is a ceramic studio in Barcelona with an active and diverse work dynamic. In our spaces coexist regular classes, workshops, coworking, production and daily workshop management.

This internship program is designed for people who need to complete training hours as part of their studies and want to do so in a real, caring and demanding environment, where the daily experience of the workshop is part of the learning process.

It is not an initiation practice. It is aimed at people who already have a previous base in ceramics and some familiarity with the operation of a workshop, although many specific dynamics will continue to be learned with practice and within our way of working.

What you will learn during the internship

The daily routine of the workshop includes preparing the space, loading and unloading kilns, organizing materials and an order that is not optional but part of the work. There is also direct contact with classes and workshops: support in lathe dynamics, accompaniment of students, and presence in the real life of the studio.

What is included in the program

In addition to hands-on studio experience, the program includes:

  • access to free work slots during the internship.
  • a weekly class in one of our shifts, according to availability.

The clay used in the free work is not included and is at the expense of each participant.

Program format

The internship program takes place in Barcelona and is designed for new hires who can sustain a certain continuity over time.

Indicative data

approximate duration: between 3 and 6 months,
approximate frequency: 3 to 5 days per week,
approximate dedication: 4 – 8 hours per day,
modality: face-to-face,
incorporation: according to availability of the study and fit of the profile.

The final organization will depend on the agreement, the academic calendar and the availability of both parties.

Where the internship takes place

The internships can take place in our different spaces in Barcelona, depending on availability and the type of dynamics of the moment:

  • Earth Ceramics
  • The Earth Garden
  • El Galpón de Tierra
  • El Patio de Tierra

The program may include contact with different areas of the studio, such as classes, workshops, coworking, production and general operation of the workshop.

To whom it is addressed

We are looking for people with a previous background in ceramics who need to formalize an internship through an agreement with a university, school or training center. It is not an initiation program.

We especially value

Experience in a workshop environment, basic in hand modeling and lathe, sense of order and cleanliness, good coexistence in a shared space and a real desire to continue learning by doing.

Essential requirement

To be able to formalize internships through an agreement. We accept curricular, extracurricular and Erasmus+ traineeships.

Incorporation depends on profile fit, documentary validation and studio availability.
